Birthday, CNE, and other things

I really don't know what is wrong with me lately, but i have just been too lazy to post our outings and other things that's going on around here...

So i guess this will be a catchup post, but brief because Andrew needs my attention and i also have MUCH cleaning to be done here. It's just got way too out of hand, toys spewed everywhere. Laundry piling. Floors needing a wash, the list is too long. But i have no motivation lately. We just have way too much stuff and know where to put everything. So you can just imagine.

First of all, my dreads are coming along, VERY slowly. I have been using this bee's wax because that's what i was told to use, but after some research on the net i learned to my dismay to make sure there is NO petroleum in it. And guess what? That's the number one ingredient in it... So to the trash that goes. Hence, I'm not using anything on it at this point. But the itch, i have it bad. Last night it actually woke me up a dozen times. But i will persevere. And the back of my head needs a lot of attention. I need someone to help me out with it. Any takers? BHF?

Last Friday was the opening day for the CNE (for those of you who do not live in Toronto and are wondering what the heck that is click here, is just much easier to explain it that way ) Andrew, Sue, Ethan and I went there to see the Spirit of Woodstock concert, staring Johnny Winters, a great guitarist. I didn't say long because i forgot to bring ear plugs for Andrew and it was quite loud. But it was still nice to see what it was all about.

Wed just Andrew and i went alone. The good thing about having an Ontario Place membership is that you can get onto the grounds of the CNE for free :) Otherwise it would cost $15 per person to get in. He had an all day ride pass so that's what we did. He had a blast. And i can tell he's going to be a real die hard thrill seeker when it comes to the rides. He's already showing signs of it. He also got to learn how to make a pizza, all the kids got their own round doh and were shown how to flatten it, stretch it, and flip it, it was really cute and funny because most of the kids were about 6yrs and under, so you can just imagine. There is so much to do there, i am planing to take him there next week, not for the rides but for the free shows and stuff, and it's free, now you can't beat that!

Wed was also Don's birthday. Unfortunately he/we could not do much for it as for celebrating because he's working on finishing a very important job right now. But we are planing to celebrate it when he's done the job, his parents, aunt and children will be coming here on the weekend of Sept 11th.

Yesterday Andrew and I went to the Science Center for a few hrs with Sue and Ethan. They had a game called Family Food, something like the game Family Feud but the subject was just on food. During the show Andrew was getting somewhat bored and yelled out to me, Mommy your just too damn cute. To which everyone heard. Thanks goodness everyone that heard it thought it was cute... After the game they gave everyone in the audience a card for a free sub at Mr Subs,,, yummy, so i managed to get 3 of them.

Last night after we got home and had dinner, Andrew and I made some chocolate cupcakes and sang happy birthday to Don, we were able to manage to get him out of the office for about 1 hr, it was good.

Tomorrow my sister Tammy is holding a family reunion on my moms side, unfortunately i won't be going. I really want to but i don't want to leave for the whole weekend, i just wouldn't feel right knowing Don is at home, busting his butt off to get this job finished and I'm out having a party. Hopefully next time we will be able to go.

Oh and I forgot to mention Christina. She dislocated her kneecap 2 weeks ago, and is now in a full length leg brace for 6 weeks. She also has to stay off of work for that long as well. They originally thought they would have to do surgery on it to repair the ligaments but the surgeon doesn't think that will be necessary, but she will have to do physical therapy after the 6 weeks.

This is just after a huge storm we had. After it was over Andrew wanted to go puddle splashing :)

LOL this is the after effects of what Andrew made his dad for his birthday, he made him a little monster character from clay. Then we had a little fun with it afterwards..

This was taken on our way to the CNE, on a street car. I really like his expression here for some reason.

I didn't get many pictures at the CNE because i forgot to charge the battery on the camera the night before. But sometimes that can be a good thing because i can just enjoy the moment rather then being stuck behind the camera and trying to capture the moment.

Waiting for a ride....

Waiting for the ride to begin.

This is one of those play house things, where the floors move and funny stuff happen, he LOVED it and went threw it at least 20 times in a roll..

Let the race begin.

Getting a little help

More rides before the camera ran out of life.

Common Andrew, smile and look like you're at least having some fun. Sheesh.

My little biker babe

I think he was a little bored on this one. Not thrilling enough for him... What do you think?

Now this is more at his level of fun.. His fav!

I don't often comment, but I read and *always* take a moment to look at your pictures. I can't believe how big Sir Andrew has gotten!

I really miss you.

Aww I love the pics! You have been soo super busy lately!
I am JUSt catching up with your blog.. I was just telling you in another post to stop using wax. .. I won't repeat the rant.. but yea.I am super glad you tossed it.Don't use more. Aloe if you need it. Salt water lemon juce spray maybe.. but yea.
Don't worry much about the back of your head honestly. Mine is pretty crazy... but as it is maturing I am more able to pull them apart easier.
At this stage the best thing I can tell you is LEAVE YOUR HAIR ALONE. -- but hey if you really want I will separate and palm roll the back of yours if you do mine.lol
though I know it is really hard.
oh and for the itchies a few drops of essential oil (tea tree oil is usually more recommended) rubbed into your scalp helps.

I am still LMAO at "mommy you're just too damn cute"
