Twas the Night Before Christmas

And just when i thought things were busy, it's going to be one hective day tomorrow. I'm going to have Don's side of the family over for a turkey dinner! Who will be here? Nannie, Grandpa, Aunt Lydia, Don's cousin Alex, Alexander, Vitalia, Lisa and James... Andrew is sooo excited he can hardly contain himself... I will be having dinner with my side of the family on Saturday, i can't wait. Tonight, besides getting prepared for the dinner event Andrew and i will be making peanut butter cookies for Santa, (Santa's request).

Here are a few pics we took when his grandparents came over! And some other ones taken from yesterday while we were at Sick Kids Hospital getting his ultrasound.

This is the way he smiles for the camera lately, what a little faker!

Busy Busy Busy

I haven't had the time to post much lately. Way too much to get done around here. Christmas shopping still not done. I do finally have all the decor up and it doesn't look too bad if i say so myself, I'm going to have to post some pictures later on. Were going to be having Christmas dinner here this year, Andrew's pretty excited about that. And talking of whom, he is so worked up about Sir Santa coming. I don't think i've ever seen a kid so excited about it in my life. He giggles when he talks about him. It's cute.
Talking of Santa, never tell your children to only ask for one gift from him when they go and sit on his lap. I did that with Andrew and he asked him for something that doesn't even exist. He asked him for a remote control car that digs into the earth, i told him that he and the elves may not be able to have enough time to do that this year, maybe he'll forget about it by next Christmas.
Lots of snow falling today, looks like it's going to be a very white Christmas after all.
Well gotta run, I will try and post pics up later of the Christmas decor and some snow pics as well.

Mother/Father

Andrew and Don were working on Andrew's computers hardware today and Don was explaining to Andrew the names of all the part in it. When he started explaining to him about the mother board he looked up at Don and said, "does the computer have a father board?"...

LOVE IT....

Happy Birthday Christina

My daughter Christina is 24 yrs old.I had her when i was only 17 yrs old, i raised her as a single mom. Her and i have been through lots over the yrs. Sometimes she feels like my best friend. The bond between us is so strong. I feel her ups, her downs, sometimes we get along like sisters. Twenty four years ago at this exact moment i was in labor, screaming in pain, so unsure what was going to happen. I can remember me telling the nurses that i didn't want to go through it anymore (give birth), they laughed at me and said "too late honey, there's NO turning back now", i was so scared. About an hr later they brought a new born baby boy into my room and said "see? in just a little while you will be holding one of these", that was what gave me the strength to go on that night, i often wonder about that baby, even to this day. I remember it snowing outside, it was the first snowfall of the year and it became a blizzard, it was beautiful out there. Finally at about 1:30 on Dec 5th they said that i was ready to push but i had to wait until the Dr got there. At those times you didn't get the Dr that was on call they actually called in your OB or GP at their home or office (where ever they be). So i had to wait until he woke up and got to the hospital, he must have lived close because he got there pretty fast. I push for about 10 mins and Christina Helen-Joyce came into my life at 2:02 am, weighing 5 Ibs 12 oz and 18 1/2 in long. She had a full head of blond hair. My life changed forever that morning. I love her so much. Happy Birthday Christina!

BIRTHDAYS, BIRTHDAYS and BIRTHDAYS

There have been SOOO many lately, and i keep forgetting to post them. Sorry guys, it's not like i'm not thinking of you, it's just i'm not thinking period....

I'll post some pictures tomorrow :)

First off it was Lisa's Birthday on the 20th, she turned 26, She's Andrew's big sister!

Then it was his brother Alexanders Birthday on Dec 1st, he turn 28.

And then my niece Tiffany's big 16th Birthday.

Max and Ruby and Window Displays

On Sat there was a Winters Fest at Dundas Square, it was packed. Andrew and Ethan got to see Max and Ruby perform live on Stage, they were pretty excited about that! After that we took a stroll down Young St and looked at the window displays, they were GORGEOUS. I took many more pictures but they did not turn out :( I'm planning to go back this week and take some more but here are a few... And believe me they are MUCH prettier awe mouth dropping in person. Many of the displays were animated. Oh and everyone had really nice music to go along with it and a little story to tell. It fit all so well. I highly recommend going to see them if your in Toronto.

Lots of people, and good music.

Santa Claus Parade

Yesterday we went to the Santa Claus Parade making this Andrew's first parade that he's been to. We met up with his friend Anika and Christine. Besides it being really cold they had a great time. I will post some of his favorite floats...

-My little Rudolph-

He really wanted one of these cars.

Andrew LOVES snowmen.

He became pretty excited when he saw Cliffard the Big Red Dog

The Salvation Army Marching Band, Andrew's daddy belonged in that when he was younger. That's also the church he belongs too as well as his Grandpa and Nannie S.

This picture has a funny little story to go with it.. All the kids are to write a letter to Santa and at the parade postal workers collect the envelops and mail them to Santa. Andrew saw the mailbox and started after him to put his letter in it, ignoring the mailmen all together, i wish i could have gotten it on video it was the cutest thing, here all the kids were handing theirs off to the postal workers and he was running off to make sure it got into the actual box...

Remembrance Day

Hopefully someday war will be something of the past. Hopefully someday know man or woman will die from the hands of an enemy. I hope that day will be in our time, or my kids time. This day brings sadness and anger to my heart. I wish know body had to die or fight, past and present. I won't ever forget, and i will teach Andrew to know his history so that it doesn't have to be repeated. I want him to remember. I want him to love and learn that it's ok to have our differences and to except them know matter what. Hate and conflict is not the way to resolve them.

Although Andrew is still quite young to comprehend what this day means, i was able to explain a wee bit about it to him. He colored a poppy (i colored the words), and he colored and glued together an angel in remembrance. Too many lives have been taken away so young, let it stop.

Trains, trains, trains

We had the pleasure of being able to watch Ethan Saturday evening while his parents went to a wedding and the boys had a BLAST being train operators... They never seem to tire from trains!
