Yay

I took Andrew back to the CNE grounds today. Just to see some of the shows and play at some of the things they have set up for kids. As i was sitting on a picnic table a man came by and said he was leaving and offered us his two wrist bands for unlimited rides, worth 33$ each. I told him to give the second one to another child so that they could enjoy the rides. I am happy to make the other child who got the other one but damn had i known that i needed one to get on more of the funner ride with him i would have taken it... Oh well. But it did make his day. He LOVES rides.

I have no idea who this was but Andrew liked her.

Jett Packs, Healthy Food and Cleaning Day

I woke up this morning and told myself that i was going to go through all of Andrew's toy in the living room that are scattered everywhere and start eliminating some of the ones that he know longer plays with. Well you can just imagine what his reaction was when i told him my intentions, he really is his dads son, won't get rid of anything. He calmed down when i told him that i won't actually get rid of them, but they have to go in order for any new ones to come in. We settled on sorting threw them and sending them to my dads place, maybe his Aunt Lydia's and Christina's place for when we visit them he'll have something to play with. Well i managed to get some but not as much as i would have liked. Instead i ended up watching a movie with him, cooking, cleaning, and helping him make a jett pack. Well actually i didn't really help much with that one< I was in the Kitchen and making dinner and he came in with 2 empty coke bottle (which were his dads, we would never drink that crap, and it's something i won't even let his dad have but it was helping him with work) and they were tied together, he's a very inventive kid. He came in with them with some tape and asked me in i could tape it on his back, it was so cute. Then we had to save the planet from this bad alien boy creature that was stealing all the top secret jett packs from planet earth. He was able to get through the secret portal just in time to capture him and retrieve them all and have a hot dinner of chicken and home fries. Super Andrew saved the day!

And then i made a beautiful and yummy garden salad..

And then i made a smail plate of fruit for all 3 of us. Andrew and Don ate the orange, i had the peach and frozen grapes.. YUMMMMMMMMY. I LOVE summer!

Earlier this week i made some homemade red sauce (it's the ONLY way i can get veggies into Andrew), and boy did it ever turn out good. I like to have it on pasta but the boys like it on there chicken. I also put some on Andrews rice, he's not too fussy about noodles these days. It takes a lot of work but it's so worth it for his sake. I make it out of fresh tomatoes, peeled and cut, red, green and yellow peppers, also peeled and cut, sauteed red onions and garlic, olive oil and a about a tablespoon of sugar to cut down the acidity. Put it all in my crock pot and simmer it for a whole day. Afterwards i puree it. Viola the best red sauce in town. And really healthy.

What a Mess

I had to take the dreads out :( The bee's wax i was using unfortunately had way too much petroleum in it and they turned out to be a real mess. So now back to the drawing board. I am going to get the right stuff for it and then start over again. What a disappointment.

The Spirit of Woodstock Concert

Ya this is a week late but at least it's up. You know me. As i said in my last post, this was the opening opening night at the CNE. Took some photo's and a really super duper cute video of the boys dancing to one of the bands.

Andrew waiting for the city bus. Looking really cute, cuz that's his job ya know.

And a really nice lady in dreads that we met there.

The cute video

Birthday, CNE, and other things

I really don't know what is wrong with me lately, but i have just been too lazy to post our outings and other things that's going on around here...

So i guess this will be a catchup post, but brief because Andrew needs my attention and i also have MUCH cleaning to be done here. It's just got way too out of hand, toys spewed everywhere. Laundry piling. Floors needing a wash, the list is too long. But i have no motivation lately. We just have way too much stuff and know where to put everything. So you can just imagine.

First of all, my dreads are coming along, VERY slowly. I have been using this bee's wax because that's what i was told to use, but after some research on the net i learned to my dismay to make sure there is NO petroleum in it. And guess what? That's the number one ingredient in it... So to the trash that goes. Hence, I'm not using anything on it at this point. But the itch, i have it bad. Last night it actually woke me up a dozen times. But i will persevere. And the back of my head needs a lot of attention. I need someone to help me out with it. Any takers? BHF?

Last Friday was the opening day for the CNE (for those of you who do not live in Toronto and are wondering what the heck that is click here, is just much easier to explain it that way ) Andrew, Sue, Ethan and I went there to see the Spirit of Woodstock concert, staring Johnny Winters, a great guitarist. I didn't say long because i forgot to bring ear plugs for Andrew and it was quite loud. But it was still nice to see what it was all about.

Wed just Andrew and i went alone. The good thing about having an Ontario Place membership is that you can get onto the grounds of the CNE for free :) Otherwise it would cost $15 per person to get in. He had an all day ride pass so that's what we did. He had a blast. And i can tell he's going to be a real die hard thrill seeker when it comes to the rides. He's already showing signs of it. He also got to learn how to make a pizza, all the kids got their own round doh and were shown how to flatten it, stretch it, and flip it, it was really cute and funny because most of the kids were about 6yrs and under, so you can just imagine. There is so much to do there, i am planing to take him there next week, not for the rides but for the free shows and stuff, and it's free, now you can't beat that!

Wed was also Don's birthday. Unfortunately he/we could not do much for it as for celebrating because he's working on finishing a very important job right now. But we are planing to celebrate it when he's done the job, his parents, aunt and children will be coming here on the weekend of Sept 11th.

Yesterday Andrew and I went to the Science Center for a few hrs with Sue and Ethan. They had a game called Family Food, something like the game Family Feud but the subject was just on food. During the show Andrew was getting somewhat bored and yelled out to me, Mommy your just too damn cute. To which everyone heard. Thanks goodness everyone that heard it thought it was cute... After the game they gave everyone in the audience a card for a free sub at Mr Subs,,, yummy, so i managed to get 3 of them.

Last night after we got home and had dinner, Andrew and I made some chocolate cupcakes and sang happy birthday to Don, we were able to manage to get him out of the office for about 1 hr, it was good.

Tomorrow my sister Tammy is holding a family reunion on my moms side, unfortunately i won't be going. I really want to but i don't want to leave for the whole weekend, i just wouldn't feel right knowing Don is at home, busting his butt off to get this job finished and I'm out having a party. Hopefully next time we will be able to go.

Oh and I forgot to mention Christina. She dislocated her kneecap 2 weeks ago, and is now in a full length leg brace for 6 weeks. She also has to stay off of work for that long as well. They originally thought they would have to do surgery on it to repair the ligaments but the surgeon doesn't think that will be necessary, but she will have to do physical therapy after the 6 weeks.

This is just after a huge storm we had. After it was over Andrew wanted to go puddle splashing :)

LOL this is the after effects of what Andrew made his dad for his birthday, he made him a little monster character from clay. Then we had a little fun with it afterwards..

This was taken on our way to the CNE, on a street car. I really like his expression here for some reason.

I didn't get many pictures at the CNE because i forgot to charge the battery on the camera the night before. But sometimes that can be a good thing because i can just enjoy the moment rather then being stuck behind the camera and trying to capture the moment.

Waiting for a ride....

Waiting for the ride to begin.

This is one of those play house things, where the floors move and funny stuff happen, he LOVED it and went threw it at least 20 times in a roll..

Let the race begin.

Getting a little help

More rides before the camera ran out of life.

Common Andrew, smile and look like you're at least having some fun. Sheesh.

My little biker babe

I think he was a little bored on this one. Not thrilling enough for him... What do you think?

Now this is more at his level of fun.. His fav!

Crappy Quality

But I LOVE this picture. I took it from my cell phone while we were at Block Busters tonight. He loves to go in there to look to see if there are any new Scooby Doo movies out. This is a daily occurrence.

Another Day at Ontario Place

Yesterday Andrew and I visited Ontario Place together, this time we were by ourselves. It's nice to have mommy and son days every once in awhile. :)

My Little Thinker, he seems to do this alot when he first goes somewhere new, although we've been to Ontario Place many times this summer, we have yet to go into the water part of it. It's been too cold to. This is the way he looks whenever it's new... He like to observe.

Slashhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh He squeeled into laughter every single time he got to the bottom of this slide.

Fun at the Beach

YAY the weather has finally been warm enough to visit the beach, so that's what Don, Andrew and i did on Sunday. We had a good time. And Don really needed to get out of the house from in front of his computer, it's been too long.

Look at those intense emotions, poor guy was really feeling pain. A boy was playing this his long spade and broke it. Poor little guy.

Perfect scenery for a perfect day.

Last Thursday Andrew and I also went to the beach with Sue and Ethan and a woman and her 2 boys that were on holidays from London England. We met them a week before on our way out of Ontario Place. They were great people, we had lots of fun that day. They have gone back, i will miss them but we will stay connected via emails and regular mail.

Here they are trying to push the boat into the water. The life guard said not to worry because there's know way they could push it in. Well they ended up doing so.
