4 Year Check Up

Andrew had his four year check up at the Dr's yesterday. He was quite funny, every time the Dr's would touch him (know matter where) he would giggle, not laugh, but a real giggle, it was nervous laugh and a real one. She checked to see if he had any elephants in his ears, blood pressure, etc. When she asked him what his favorite toy was he said all of them, that's sooo Andrew. He weighs 32 Ibs and is 38 inches tall. He's tiny. She checked the swollen lymph node and doesn't think it's anything but a large lymph node. She said she wanted to get another ultrasound done sometime in May to see if it grew (which i don't think it will), if it hasn't then all is good :)

Father and Son Hiking Day

Andrew and Don went on a hike through the forest, down in the valley. They went to the rails and watched a train. Threw rocks in water, played in the mud. Met a nice family who were having a BBQ. They had a great time.

With our gorgeous sunny and warm weather we've been having here, we have been able to get out more, and more we have. Andrew has been to the park almost every day. Has been able to see his friends Ethan and Anika as well. Here a some pics taken from the week. Lets hope this beautiful weather decides to stay.

Still no News

The Dr said that if we didn't hear from him on the blood work results that they came back good... Sooo, now we have another reason to smile today....

What a Day!!!

With spring in action the weather is finally starting to get warmer, it was about plus 12c today, that's warm if your a Canadian! Andrew had a blast, playing in puddles, experimenting in the dirt, watching trains and playing with Ethan. He really makes me stop and smell the roses, he's so much in the now, it's great seeing the world through his eyes, he is bringing me back to that place that i lost so long ago, that place called childhood. What a glorious place to be. I'm so lucky to have been able to have a chance with motherhood two times.
(by the way, doesn't he look like he flew out of the 70's with that outfit?)

Grandpa and Nanny

Andrew's Grandpa and Nanny just got back from a visit in Florida yesterday so i thought that i would put a picture up for everyone to see his other grandparents, he also wants me to say hi to them. So from Andrew "Hi Nanny and Grandpa, i love you"

Blood Work Results

I took Andrew to the Dr's again today to see what the blood work results are and he said that they look good :) He doesn't think that the lump is anything serious, but were still going into see a pediatrician at the end of the month and see what she has to say about it.
Also, Andrew has really foul fishy smelling breath when he's sleeping, i mentioned that to the Dr today and he wanted to get "another" blood test done on him to rule out diabetes's. Soooooooooooooo, poor little man had to get yet again another needle, but not just one today but two :( , the first needle didn't work so they had to use his other arm, with the first one he didn't cry at all but when they told him that they would have to do his other arm he cried. But all in all he was REALLY good, they even told me that he was one of the best kids they have ever put a needle into, they said most kids his age kick and scream and usually have to have several medical staff holding them down, not him tho, he just berried his face into my chest and cried.

Another Ultrasound Update

Just updating about his ultrasound because i know there are some people coming here and are wondering what the heck is going on with that.
We received a call from the Dr's office last Monday, they said that the Dr wants us to come in to discuss the results, now in Canada anyways that's usually not a good thing, we go on the principle that "no news is good news". I called to make an appointment to see him but the soonest they could get us in wasn't until this Wed, how the heck can anyone one wait for more then a week is beyond me so Don, Andrew and i went into the walk-in clinic (where his Dr practices) and got the on call Dr to read the report to us. He said that it's not a hernia and it is a swollen lymph node, he said it's a very rare spot to have one but not unheard of. He said that he wasn't too worried about it since he's had it for a long time but that if we would like to get a whole white and red blood count that wouldn't hurt to do, also to maybe see a pediatrician surgeon. So we got his blood drawn, Andrew cried but other then that he was really good about it, as good as a 3 yr old can be. So now we have to wait until this Thurs to hear what the results of that is and what to do next. I will update when i know more! Here's a picture of the lump, i made it black and white because it's easier to see it that way!

Siblings Together

I was able to get some pictures of the 2 urchins together, not a common occurrence now a days. They are sooo goofy together, it's really hard getting a serious pose with them 2 together, but i guess it says something of their personalities :) It would be nice if i had a picture of him with all of his siblings! Hopefully someday soon!
