Edwards Gardens

Sooo, Tiffany did not show up, she went to a birthday party instead. I guess i have been demoted (she's 16yrs old). Oh well, i guess i'll catch up with her again in say, hmmmm, 10 yrs?

But Melissa and my brother inlaw Manny did visit us and we went out to the gardens (since it was soooo nice out and all). Oh i almost forgot about Shylee, she's their family dog. She came with us too! It was so warm out, we need not where a jacket, and yes, just short sleeves and shorts type of weather (that of course is if you feel comfortable enough to where such garment, to which i don't yet) ok, i digress. Where was i? oh ya, in the beautiful garden. Well it wasn't the most gorgeous because the flowers haven't bloomed yet and not much green either, but that all depends on what you think is beauty, i LOVE LOVE anything in nature in all its dimensions. That is another reason i love living in this part of the world, for people who have A.D.D all the four seasons are refreshing changes, i can't get bored, but i have also noticed as i age that for some reason i think it makes life go faster. Who knows, i might be on to something here! But there i go again, digressing. Andrew and Melissa loved going down to the many small creeks and throwing rock in the water. Melissa found a ball in one of them. We did get to see some flowers in bloom but not many. There were TONS of people also out and enjoying the nice weather. One thing i love about going out at this time of year is that there are very few bugs bugging me. We decided to park at Edwards Gardens and walk to and back to the stables where there are horses (approx 3 km each way). But a little more then half way there the thunder clouds rolled in really quickly. Don wanted to keep going but we didn't think it would be a good idea and told him we would get the car and pick him up at the stables. He wanted to keep Andrew with him so Manny, Melissa and I went to get the car. On our way there all of a sudden you could hear the wind rolling in behind us, I wish i would have taped it, it looked like something out of a movie, i almost felt like we could be in the land of Oz. The dry leaves were blowing in every direction and then collecting all together and floating up into the sky, and then separating again and looking as if they were doing a dance up there, It looked and sounded spectacular. And then minutes later came the rain, pouring. Wet. Cold. I looked at Melissa (Manny ran to get the car) and told her that Andrew's probably scared and is calling for me. So by the time we got to the car we were soaked and VERY cold, thank gawd i brought a jacket and sweat pants for Andrew (just in case), and thank gawd i gave them to him to hold on to. We drove to the stables to get them, they were soaked but ok. Getting out of the park was a different story tho, there was only one way out and it seemed like the whole city of Toronto came there, the line up was LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.

So we went home, put dry clothes on, Melissa and Manny went downstairs for a swim. Then they had to leave to get Jessica and Judy from the airport. After they left i went through the pictures, earlier i gave the camera to Melissa (11yrs old) and told her she was in charge of the picture taking. She seemed to like that. And boy was i every surprised to see the pictures she took, it looks like we may have another nature photographer in the family. She's great!

Here are some for proof.

My lovely niece Melissa

Manny and Melissa, Manny was lucky to be able to take off his wet shirt, the bum.

Melissa and Shylee, even she got soaked.

There are some more photo that she took but of course i could not post them all.

Later on in the evening Don told me that Andrew was wanting me when the rain started, I know my boy!
