Well today was the offical day, the park it was. ALL.DAY.LONG. And it was FUN fun fun. Oh and as for the pictures? I'm just having a bit of fun in photoshop :) Common Mom, no time for picture right now, let's gooooo.

Andrew Rides a Bike

Well it's official, he's a big boy now *sniff*... Andrew rode a 2 wheeler bike (with training wheels of course) for the first time today... He did great. It's so hard to believe that he's already old enough to do this. This is before we got the helmet (we were on our way to the store to buy one)

The last post i made (easter)

FIXED

It's Easter Again :)

Ok, here we are another years Easter on this blog. Happy Easter everyone :)

The bunny came, the bunny dumped the goods, the bunny left. All is well, should i just end this entry now?

Maybe not.

I am not sure where to start because there is so much to write about but I'm also having writers block, or just to lazy to write.

Ok I'll start with last night, Andrew could not fall asleep, he was sooo excited about the Easter Bunny arriving with his goods, he was so excited about the egg hunt (but stupid me did not buy him eggs for a hunt and did I ever feel bad).. So Don went and tin foiled all of his bunny gummy bears into egg shapes and made a trail to all of his Easter yummies. He was so excited to see his loot. Needless to say he's been on a chocolate sugar high all day, so it's goes without saying he will likely also have a major breakdown later. To be continued.

Now i'm going to back track a bit starting on Thurs. Thurs morning Carman picked Don, Andrew and I in his big transport truck. Andrew got to sit car seat in the front seat beside uncle Carm. Usually when we go into the truck which is an 18 wheeler, Andrew doesn't really like it, i think it's because it's sooo huge and overwhelming. But this time he didn't seem to mind it, i'm thinking it's because daddy was with him this time. When we got to Kitchener Judy (my sister) met us in a parking lot where Carman works and picked us up. Soooo that's where we slept for the night. When we got there i had a migraine all day and night, so i wasn't much fun. And i was very tired. Tammy, Carman and Natyya came later on and we all sat and talked for awhile and then i made cupcakes for Andrew early birthday gathering after the Easter dinner on Friday.

Saturday, Alexander came to Kitchener on a bus to be with all of us for the Easter dinner. The dinner was at the BIG house in the Country. The kids had an egg hunt. The food was spectacular, Christina's boyfriend Dave played his violin for us (this guy is amazing at it), and then Judy and I made the dinosaur cake for Andrew and we all sang happy birthday. Everyone was having a great time. Then Alexander, Christina and Tara went out to a bar and afterwards they came to Judy's to sleep.

Sunday my dad picked Alexander, Don, Andrew and I up and drove us back home to Toronto, first he dropped Alexander off and then with the request of Andrew took us to McDonald's for crap food, to which i can proudly say i didn't partake of. That stuff is nasty. Then dad dropped us all off and here we are.

This is the only picture i got of him for Easter. I forgot to take them, and when i did he was already done. I can kick myself in the butt for that because i don't really like this photo but oh well, it's too late now.

Some of the goods i was able to get on camera.

What Is On Your Mind?

What is on your four year old mind? Why does it seem so much different then mine?
How does the world look through your eyes?
Why do the puddles call you to splash? Why don't they call me in the same way? That excitement? Where did it end in me? And why?
I like seeing the wonder, the joy and excitement in your eyes when you see that puddle, the tiny insect, the rising sun, the first snowflake falling from the seasons sky.
Somewhere that child that was inside me long ago but has been shoved away into "adulthood" has a "knowing" and "longing" of the places you see and relearns to come out and play again.

Thank you.

It's been busy

Well Sir Andrew got sick AGAIN! Just another common cold but sheesh this has got to stop. I'm almost afraid to go out with him anymore.
We've been really sticking around the home front, taking him out for walks, and splashing in puddles but staying clear from all kids. I have some pictures to post but i don't have the time to right now but i will later tonight or tomorrow. I just mainly wanted to let anyone that might read his blog every once in awhile that were still here.

Andrew's 1st Photoshop Art

Way too Long

Wow, i didn't realise it's been so long since i have wrote an entry.
I guess it's because there's not too much to write about.
hmmm let me think.
Since i last wrote: Andrew had yet again another virus, this one was a cold virus. He has a fever for 2 days, low grade, and really congested and coughed a lot. That lasted for a week. Don and I were able to escape that one :)

Last weekend we went to Kitchener for my nieces 25th birthday gathering, i have some pics i'll will post of that. So we spent Saturday night at my sister Tammy's place and Sunday night we went to my dads place, my nieces Jessica, Natyya and Melissa stayed with us there. Monday and Tues night we slept at my sister Judy's place. Wednesday she and her girls drove us home and stayed the night until Thursday. Christina came here on Saturday and spent the night. I guess we have been busy.

So here we are, Tues afternoon, Andrew and I did some home learning today. He knows how to write his numbers from 0 to 10, and is learning to do some addition and subtraction. He practices writing his name and did some coloring. After that we made some flowers to decorate the place a bit.

Cards, Clowns and Other Things

Today was a very productive day here. Andrew made a clown out of a coat hanger, he traced his hands and feet, painted them, i cut and tapes it up. Oh and he also made the face and hat.

After that we played domino's on the floor, and sequencing with 5 pictures, he had to put them into the right order and tell a story.

He's getting really good at his penmanship, he knows how to right the numbers from 1 - 10. He's also doing simple adding and subtracting from 1 - 10....

His potato plant is growing fast!

Then And Now

I'm looking through old photo's of Andrew that are on my hard drive so i thought i'd post some of my favs every once in awhile. I love looking back, but it also makes me feel sad at the same time. I know how fast childhood goes, and it seems like Andrew is growing even faster then the norm, i wish i had a magic button to slow down time. It just doesn't feel fair at times that life goes so quickly.

This picture was taken in Feb 2007. Andrew was almost 3yrs old.

How to Make Blueberry Muffins

According to a 4 yr old.

Andrew asked me this morning as soon as he woke up if he could have a blueberry muffin for breakfast. We didn't have any so his next question was if i knew how to make them, i said no, not off hand. He then told me it was simple, all you have to do is get blueberries and a slice of bread and squish them together and shape them into muffin shapes.... Just like that... Now why didn't i think of that? Sheesh.

Makes me think of the famous quote, "Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler."

Jimmy Neutron and other Things

Andrew is on a Jimmy Neutron kick now, that's all he wants to watch. Could this be the end of a 2 yr long stretch from Scooby? Stay tuned - lol.
It's been really cold here lately so because of him getting sick and the weather we have been stuck in side for over 2 weeks now. I'm going to take him out for a wee walk today just to get some air.
Here are some recent pics since i'm clearing my memory card!

This was taken when he was sick :( ... Scooby nibbling at his ear ;)

Don's friend came here for 2 days last week, he's got gargantuan feet. Andrew and his together!

Andrew's growing a potato plant.

Little boy genius, here he is reading a Harvard Classic on Plato, Epictetus, Marcus Aurelius. :P

It's Been ONE Year Now

March 2 2008 is when i started this blog for Andrew... Yayyyyy. That's it. Nothing more to add. It's been a quiet week here. Cold out, brrrrr. Christina visited on Saturday night for the evening, she brought her boyfriend Dave over and he played his violin for us, he is spectacular.

Empathy

I have a problem with empathy, there i said it. I have tons of it for animals but for the human sector and especially the ones that are closest to me i fall short. I'm sorry. I am learning how to be more understanding and in tuned to/with how how others feel. It's going to be a hard road but one that i want to do for Andrew's sake, and Christina's as well as Don's. Why am i sharing this here? Because i want Andrew to know that no one is perfect and we all have personal things that we have to work on to make us better people, within and throughout. I am learning compassion, understanding and patience. It's not going to come overnight, in fact in might take some time, but i will become a better person. To Don and Christina i just want to say that i'm sorry that i didn't do this a long time ago. BUT, i'm also grateful for realizing that i do have a problem, that's the first step along my journey to enlightenment.

Today i am bleaching EVERYTHING down...

Not So Happy Birthday for me :(

Well here we are, today is my birthday and Andrew's still getting sick. Not all of the time, just in the evenings. Every.single.evening since Tuesday. Too make matters worse I am still feeling VERY weak still. Tonight I was able to eat a roll for the first time since Thursday night. I called telehealth (reg nurses) about Andrew, i didn't know if i should take him to Emergency or not, and they said as long as he's not showing any signs of dehydration not to even bother. I just wish i could take all this sickness away. Don seems to be getting better a lot faster then all of us. Lucky him. Sooo, if Andrew vomits again tonight i will be taking him to see a Dr tomorrow for sure. My poor baby, i feel so helpless.

Too Much Sickness

We're all sick now :(
This is a HORRIBLE virus. And extremely painful. Andrew's still throwing up, if he's still like this tonight i'm going to take him up to the hospital.

Virus's

I HATE THEM... Poor Andrew is sick with yet another damn virus. We're guessing he must have caught it from the Science Center. He started vomiting Wed morning at 6am, about every 20 mins until about 11am. He woke up at 2pm, drank some water, played with his toys for a bit, watched Scooby, ate a bit of chicken noodle soup. All seemed to be ok. He fell asleep in my arms in the livingroom at about 10pm. Don lied him on the couch so that i could get up and do things. We were talking and Andrew woke up vomiting again. I cleaned him up, we went to bed, he had a low grade fever. He drank some water and vomited again. I gave him some liquid gravel and he slept until about 5am, woke up and wanted to nurse, after that i gave him some more gravel and he slept till 11am. Today there has been no vomiting thus far. He had some telly toast (peanut butter) when he woke up, wanted to eat later in the day, Don made him some chicken strips (andrew's request)but only had 2 bites. He didn't look so good at about 7pm, another low grade fever (see the pattern?), i gave him some gravel again, he fell asleep on my lap on the couch at 8pm. I really hope he doesn't get sick again tonight. If so i will take him to the ER, i hope it's not like the last time. Poor baby.... I hate this.

Family Day at the Science Center

Today in Canada is family day so we decided to take Andrew to the science center for a few hours. It was PACKED, it seems that everyone else thought it would be a great way to spend the day with their families as well.... They had an extra exhibit for the day run by K-Nex, the boys had a great time building things. Well, i should say especially Don. It was good that he finally got out of the house and outdoors, that hasn't been happening too often lately, but brrrrr was it ever cold out on the way home.

Here's their creation that they built together, Don called it "The Virus"...

He had a blast with this spiral lights that were being projected from the ceiling, whenever you stamp on them the spirals move. Not a very clear image because i couldn't use the flash.

And a few others that caught my eye!

Ok, Don really loved this one, it is really bizarre how he died tho, what it his fate? It's about a Muslim named Al-Jahiz, he lived from 776-868

Just outside of the building. (yes we did out his coat on right after these shots)

I like these pictures

Andrew is really into building things. He REALLY wants to make a robot. Everyday he wants to invent something. It won't be too supricing if he gets into the robitics field when he's older... Oh and he LOVES Teddy Bears, his fav one he names Lovey, he's takes him everywhere with him, it's aoooo cute.

We all made heart shaped cupcakes today. And they were YUMMY :)

One Week

It's been a week now and Andrew still hasn't stuttered... Yayyy.

Sadly we did do not do anything this week, i was sick with a nasty flu. If it's not Andrew it's Don, if not him it's me. Thank goodness they didn't catch it (thus far)... So because of me being ill there isn't really much to report.

This weekend i am planning to take him to the Science Center...

That's about it for now :)

Thursday, February 5, 2009

Soooo

Nothing really much to report. I just feel like i have to write something. Andrew's been stuttering for quite some time now. It has been getting worse this past month so i have been calling different speech therapy clinics throughout Toronto, one said that he's too old now. The other one at the hospital said that the waiting list is up to a year, i called another one and they said the waiting list would be up to 4 months, AND it would cost 5 to 6 hundred dollars :O .... I was starting to get really discouraged and then all of a sudden, yesterday he stopped stuttering, almost completely. Like magic!

As for me, well i am happy to say that i will be going out for a whole night without the boys for the first time since i've had Andrew. I will be staying at the Sutton Hotel in Toronto for one night with my sisters Tammy, Judy, cousins Monica and Debbie and my good friend Sue. It's a girls night out,,, Thanks Monica for setting this up. I will report back after wards how it all went and how and if the boys survived without me :)

To be continued......
